Injector Testing

Injector Testing

Injectors are the primary source of ignition in your combustion chamber. Over time, they can begin to wear down, leading to things such as lack of power, excessive smoke and trouble starting. We offer a 3 stage injector testing and cleaning procedure that can help us diagnose the root cause of your trucks issues.

How We Test Injectors

We utilize an industry standard, three step testing process.

Stage 1

The first step in this process is the leak test This is done by keeping the injector actuator closed, and gradually applying more pressure.

If no leakage is found, we know that the nozzle is not leaking, and there is no leaking from the injector body.

Stage 2

Conversely, the second step is almost the exact same, except that the tests are conducted with the expectation that the injectors actuator will gradually open, this will help us verify that the injectors are supplying an appropriate amount of fuel to the cylinder depending on throttle.

Stage 3

We analyze the data through our injector testing equipment, checking that the injectors are functioning properly under full load, part load, pre injection and idle. With this data, we can correctly diagnose the source of many issues such as low power, heavy fuel consumption, white smoke, misfires and a series of after treatment issues.

Once we accurately pinpoint the issue, we will work with you to repair the issues.
